Arlington Coronavirus Update: 10 Days With No Additional Deaths

ARLINGTON, VA — The Virginia Department of Health reported Tuesday there were no new deaths in the Arlington Health District due to COVID-19, the disease associated with the new coronavirus. The total of COVID-19-related deaths in the Arlington Health District stands at 131.

There have been no new deaths reported in the Arlington Health District since June 26, when five deaths were reported. This means there have been no COVID-19-related deaths reported in the health district for 10 days.

There are 17 new cases of COVID-19 in the Arlington Health District as of Tuesday morning, bringing the total number of cases in the health district to 2,550.

In the health district, there are currently 422 hospitalized patients, up one from Monday.

As of Tuesday, there are 66,740 total cases statewide, according to data reported by the Virginia Department of Health. In Virginia, there have been 1,881 coronavirus-related deaths to date. There are currently 6,512 hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

There have been 17 coronavirus outbreaks in the Arlington Health District as of Monday, with 543 cases related to an outbreak. There have been 12 outbreaks at long term care facilities, two outbreaks at a congregate setting and three outbreaks in health care settings in Arlington. There have been 173 reported coronavirus cases in Arlington health care workers.

On Tuesday, Virginia health officials reported 24,787 COVID-19 tests have been taken in Arlington, with a 5.0 percent positivity rate. Statewide there have been 802,182 COVID-19 tests taken, with a 5.8 percent positivity rate.

Globally, more than 11.6 million people have been infected by COVID-19, and over 538,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Tuesday morning. In the United States, more than 2.9 million people have been infected and over 123,000 people have died from COVID-19.

  • 10-19: 101 cases
  • 20-29: 450 cases
  • 30-39: 462 cases
  • 40-49: 435 cases

  • 60-69: 283 cases
  • 70-79: 175 cases
  • 80+: 203 cases
