Arlington Coronavirus Update: 10 Days With No Additional Deaths​

Virginia Health Department reported no additional deaths Monday morning due to the new coronavirus.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Virginia Department of Health reported no new deaths Monday in the Arlington Health District due to COVID-19, the disease associated with the new coronavirus. This is the 10th day in a row in which no new deaths were reported. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths in the Arlington Health District stands at 135

There are 16 new cases of COVID-19 in the Arlington Health District as of Monday morning, 10 more than the six reported on Sunday. This brings the total number of cases in the health district to 2,823. In the health district, there are currently 431 hospitalized patients.

As of Monday, there are 86,072 total cases statewide, according to data reported by the Virginia Department of Health. In Virginia, there have been 2,082 coronavirus-related deaths to date. There are currently 7,647 hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

There have been 17 coronavirus outbreaks in the Arlington Health District as of Monday, with 545 cases related to an outbreak. There have been 12 outbreaks at long-term care facilities, two outbreaks at a congregate setting and three outbreaks in health care settings in Arlington. There have been 177 reported coronavirus cases in Arlington health care workers.

On Monday, Virginia health officials reported 33,939 COVID-19 tests have been taken in Arlington, with a 5.2 percent positivity rate. Statewide there have been 1,137,415 COVID-19 tests taken, with a 8.0 percent positivity rate.

Globally, more than 16.2 million people have been infected by COVID-19, and over 649,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Monday morning. In the United States, more than 4.2 million people have been infected and over 146,000 people have died from COVID-19.
