Arlington Firefighters Hold Drive For Animal Shelter
The Arlington County Fire Department will launch Operation FirePaws donation drive to help the Animal Welfare league of Arlington.
ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington County Fire Department will launch its second annual Operation FirePaws donation drive Aug. 1, a month-long effort to collect pet supplies for the Animal Welfare league of Arlington.
Residents can help out by dropping off non-perishable items from the AWLA’s wish list to any Arlington County fire station. Canned food, collars, toys and even some office supplies are also greatly appreciated, according to a press release. The Animal Welfare League has asked that you not contribute milk bones, boxed hard treats, or homemade treats.
Last year, community members donated more than 600 pounds of pet supplies during Operation FirePaws. Firefighters are hoping to beat that total this year.
