Burglary Charge Filed Against Arlington Man Found Asleep In Delaware Home
Delaware State Police arrested 26-year-old Thomas J. Obrien of Arlington with burglary after they found him asleep in a Rehoboth home.

REHOBOTH, DE — Delaware State Police arrested an Arlington man early Sunday morning after a local homeowner reported finding him asleep in bed, according to a police release.
Troopers responded around 4:24 a.m., for the report of a robbery in process at a home in the 38000 block of Pine Lane. The homeowner told police they discovered a man in a rear bedroom on the second story of their home.
Investigating, the troopers found Thomas J. Obrien, 26, of Arlington partially clothed and asleep in a bed. Police say Obrien complied with their order to exit the bed. They then took him into custody. At the time of the arrest, the troopers said they could smell the strong odor of alcohol on the suspect. The victims located Obrien's wet clothes and told police Obrien was wearing one of their T-shirts.

The troopers took Obrien to Delaware State Police Troop 7, where they charged him with burglary second degree (felony) and theft. After being arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3, Obrien was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $2,600 bond.
