Arlington Yoga Studio Slammed for Insensitive Promotion Tied to 9/11
The Twitterverse hopped all over the local studio, The Washington Post reported.

It hasn’t been a great week for Arlington — first a U.S. senator says the county is “soulless” and then a local yoga studio gets it all wrong with a discount promotion tied to 9/11.
Talk about negative publicity.
The folks at Bikram Yoga Arlington are probably taking some deep breaths today after a promotion tied to the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks went awry, as reported by The Washington Post.

The promotion went like this:
“Freedom Isn’t Free — And we intend to honor those patriots who have died for our country and morn [sic] the loss of freedom of speech and other rights that died that day.”

That wording immediately caught the attention and ire of Twitter followers:
@lilwolf30 wrote: “@bikramarlington you should be ashamed. Tasteless...you could have highlighted this day in so many ways but a discount? Disgraceful.”
The yoga studio posted this apology on their Facebook page today:
“We would like to extend a sincere apology to anybody we have offended with our previous promotion. The intention of the sale was to honor the memory of the many members of our family, community and our nation that we lost on that horrible day. Please accept our sincerest apologies, we did not mean to cause any harm to anyone.”
Based on about 40 comments posted, most weren’t having it.
