Arlington's Duck Donuts Named a 'Best Donut Shop in America'

Thrillist has named Duck Donuts in Arlington one of the 33 best donut shops in the country.

Duck Donuts, which is based in North Carolina’s Outer Banks, opened up a location at 2511 N. Harrison St. in Arlington last year.

Thrillist ranked America’s finest donut establishments recently, and placed Duck Donuts on the list, heaping praises on the joint for its heavy, cake batter-based donuts fried in shortening.

“At the original location, the donuts are fried on a conveyor belt behind glass panels, so you can follow your fattening little friend from batter ring to fully topped beauty,” the article states.

Duck Donuts uses a unique blend of wheat and corn flour, soybean oil, nonfat dry milk, egg yolks and beta carotene to make its donuts. You can also buy a Duck Donuts T-shirt and coffee mug if you find you really love their donuts.
