Duck Donuts Opens in Arlington

Donutmania continues its march across Northern Virginia, with the opening of Duck Donuts in Arlington, in the Lee Harrison Shopping Center, at 2511 N. Harrison St.

Hours are:

• Monday-Wednesday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Thursday-Sunday: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Coating choices include maple icing, powdered sugar and peanut butter icing. You can also top your donut with everything from shredded coconut to bacon bits. Duck Donuts notes that each donut contains approximately 310 calories.

Their donuts are fried in a soy-based shortening and contain the following key ingredients:

• Wheat and corn flour
• soybean oil
• nonfat dry milk
• egg yolks
• beta carotene

The company, based in North Carolina, also sells Duck Donuts T-shirts and coffee mugs.
