Assault On Police Charge Levied Against Arlington Man With Boxcutter
A 37-year-old Arlington man is facing multiple charges, including public intoxication, assault on police, and obstruction of justice.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested a 37-year-old man for assaulting a police officer early Saturday morning in the Courthouse area.
Officers responded around 12:34 a.m., to the 2000 block of Clarendon Boulevard for the report of a suspicious man. The caller told police that a man, who appeared to be holding a boxcutter, jumped in front of their vehicle and started screaming. The caller was able to drive safely out of the area.
Police located and arrested the suspect, whom they identified as 37-year-old Brian Tucker of Arlington. During the arrest, police said that Tucker was noncompliant and assaulted an officer, who received minor injuries.

Medics arrived on the scene and treated Tucker for minor injuries he received prior to the officers' arrival. While searching the suspect, officers found a boxcutter.
ACPD charged Tucker with assault on police, carrying a concealed weapon, obstruction of justice and public intoxication. He was then held without bond.
