3 Ways to Jump-start a Workout Routine

How to live a healthier lifestyle.

Most all of us have active lifestyles. It is sometimes hard to set aside time to exercise. But not impossible. Here are three easy suggestions that can help you get on track:

  1. Make a Schedule: The first thing you must do is set aside time to work out. There are 24 hours in a day, during which the average American sleeps about eight hours. The average work day is nine hours, which gives you seven hours to set aside 30 minutes to work out. If you cant find a 30- minute block of time, you can break that 30 minutes up. This requires a bit more creativity.
  2. Create Accountability: It is important to hold yourself accountable for your workouts. Set goals and give yourself an allotted amount of time to reach those goals. Work out with a partner or personal trainer, or go to group exercise classes.
  3. Find Motivation: Motivation is what drives us to do the things we want and to do -- and a lack of motivation is what causes not to do things we should do. You might love to volunteer at the local YMCA because you want to help the community. You might hate your job but you continue to go because you need that job to suport you family. Dig deep and find those things that drive you to exercise. Exercising to relieve stress. Exercise to lower your risk of heart desease. Find that driving force and use that to motivate you to exercise.
