(Two exciting events!)
1) Sunday Science Presentation by Paleo Quest: “SharkFinder”
Unleash your curiosity as Paleo Quest founders Jason Osborne and Aaron Alford use multi-media and a ‘hands-on’ experience of real fossils from the Atlantic
Coastal Plain to highlight local paleontology research and knowledge. As professional-amateur paleontologists they answer research questions by any means necessary, including inventing new methods and tools, climbing, scuba diving in treacherous ‘blackwater’ conditions, digging, creating collaborations, and exploring. Their colorful and interactive approach makes use of stories, humor, video and a mobile museum of local fossils to demystify and personalize science. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and explore the Paleo Quest fossil collection which includes fossils from a 60 million year span. All questions, quandaries and musings are welcome!
Doors Open: 1:15 p.m. Talk Begins: 1:30 p.m
