Important Voting Information for Virginia Residents
Check the list of acceptable ID and remember to bring your ID to the polls on November 6th.

With recent changes to Virginia's voter ID laws, it is more important than ever that you bring an acceptible form of identification when you go to vote. If you forget your ID at home, you will no longer be allowed to sign a sworn affidavit and have your vote counted. Instead you will be required to vote on a provisional ballot, which will only be counted if you deliver a copy of your ID to your locality's Electoral Board before noon on the Friday following the election.
Please CLICK HERE for a full list of acceptible ID to bring with you to the voting booth. One of the acceptible forms of identification is your voter registration card. As you check your mail in the coming weeks, be on the lookout for mail from the State Board of Elections. New voter registration cards have been mailed and have already started to arrive.
When you receive your voter registration card, make sure to open it immediately and check that the information is correct. If you need to change your name or address, fill out the back of the card and return it to your local registrar's office in either Arlington or Fairfax. Remember, October 15th is the deadline to register to vote or to update your current registration information if you would like to vote in the November Election.
