Convicted Felon Who Bought Ammunition Illegally In Arlington Sentenced
A D.C. man who had been convicted in 2023 on a felony weapons charge, purchased ammunition illegally weeks later in Arlington, reports say.
ARLINGTON, VA — A 20-year-old man from Washington, D.C. was sentenced in federal court on Thursday for illegally buying ammunition from an Arlington gun store.
Kiyel Tyquello Kearney, aka “KhiGlock,” and “Glock” was sentenced to a year and six months in prison. He was convicted on May 3, 2023 in Maryland for purchasing ammunition from a federally licensed gun store even though, as a convicted felon, he was barred from doing so, according to court documents.
On April 13, 2023, Kearney was convicted in Prince George's County, Marylandfor unlawfully possessing a loaded handgun in a vehicle, according to court documents. On May 3, 2023, he purchased ammunition from an Arlington gun shop, despite the fact that his new status as a convicted felon made that illegal.
