On the Road
At 7:24 a.m., a crash was reported on the eastbound side of I-66 at mile marker 62.6, about 1.9 miles west of I-495 in Fairfax County. One eastbound travel lane is closed. Drivers should expect about a 2-mile backup.

A crash was reported at 7:19 a.m. on the inner loop of I-495 in Prince George's County, Maryland, at MD-414/St Barnabas Rd. The center of the road is blocked.
At 7:26 a.m., a disabled tractor trailer was reported on the inner loop of I-495 at mile marker 55.4, about 1 mile north of the Braddock Road exit in Fairfax County. No lanes are closed.
A disabled bus was reported at 7 a.m. in Prince George's County, Maryland, on the northbound side of MD-210 after Swan Creek Rd/Livingston Rd. The center lane is blocked.
Drivers should be alert to a new traffic pattern on I-66 eastbound between the Nutley St. exit and I-495/Capital Beltway. The left lane is blocked.
On the Rails
On the Orange Line, the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton remain closed through Labor Day due to a summer platform improvement project. Local and express shuttles are available at Stadium-Armory.
Weather
We're in for a hot stretch in the final week of August. On Wednesday, clouds will move into the area before clearing in the afternoon. High temperatures are expected around 88 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The next chance of rain is Thursday night and then again Friday afternoon. High temperatures on Thursday and through the weekend are expected around 90 degrees or slightly higher.
