On the Road

At 7:32 a.m., a crash was reported in the eastbound lanes of I-66 at I-495. The left lane is blocked on the I-66 ramp to the outer loop of the Capital Beltway.

A crash has been cleared on the northbound side of VA-28 before New Braddock Rd. in Centreville as of 7:32 a.m. The crash was blocking the right lane. All lanes are now open, but delays remain.

In the West End of D.C., a crash was reported at 6:53 a.m. on New Hampshire Ave. NW and M St. NW. Drivers should proceed with caution by the crash.

In Maryland, the left lane was blocked at 7:12 a.m. on the northbound side of the Baltimore-Washington Pkwy near MD-193/Greenbelt Rd. due to a crash.

At 7:22 a.m., a disabled vehicle was reported on the southbound side of I-95 at mile marker 169.8, just south of Exit 169 in Springfield. No lanes are closed.

At 7:16 a.m., a disabled vehicle was reported on the southbound side of I-95 at mile marker 176.1, about 0.2 miles south of VA-241N Exit 175B in Fairfax County. No lanes are closed.

No delays reported on Metro or VRE.

Weather

Prepare for the hottest weekend of the year so far. On Friday, high temperatures are forecast to reach 95, according to the National Weather Service. On Saturday and Sunday, highs are expected to reach into the high 90s, with a chance of temperatures hitting 100 in the D.C. area for the first time since August 2016.

Heat advisories are possible over the weekend, with the heat index expected to reach 105 on both Saturday and Sunday. There's a slight chance of thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, with a better chance of storms on Monday.
