Decor and You DC was contacted a few years ago by a local family who wanted to build a custom home with universal design features for their two children with special needs. The homeowners wanted to create a warm, calming, and functional environment for the family that felt like home. The priority was to incorporate the necessary universal design elements while ensuring that their home would not look or feel institutional or commercial.
