Dine Out to Help Raise Funds to End Childhood Hunger

Dine out at a participating area restaurant during the week of Sept. 18-24 to support Share Our Strength's Dine Out For No Kid Hungry, a national fundraising program to end childhood hunger in America.

Planning to dine out the week of Sunday, Sept. 18-Saturday, Sept. 24? Consider visiting one of the area restaurants participating in Share Our Strength’s Dine Out For No Kid Hungry, a national fundraising program that supports the No Kid Hungry® Campaign to end childhood hunger in America.

During the week of the fundraiser, participating restaurants and chain brands raise funds in a variety of ways, including donating a percentage of sales to the No Kid Hungry Campaign and hosting customer promotions. Through efforts such as Dine Out For No Kid Hungry, Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign seeks to end childhood hunger in America by 2015. Among other ways that Share Our Strength works to end childhood hunger in this country, the organization:

  • teaches at-risk families how to cook healthy, affordable meals;
  • helps afterschool programs provide nutritious meals and snacks;
  • contributes food for kids during the summer when school lunches are not available;
  • ensures that children in need are enrolled in federal nutrition programs like school lunch and breakfast; and
  • helps families meet their nutritional needs by expanding access to other federal programs, such as the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program.

Last year, participating restaurants raised more than $1.5 million through Dine Out For No Kid Hungry; Share Our Strength hopes to double that total this year.
