FAA Awards $1.75M To Reagan National Airport For Runway Reconstruction

The Federal Aviation Administration awarded $1.75 million to Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport for reconstruction of a runway.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Federal Aviation Administration awarded $1.75 million to Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport for the reconstruction of a runway, U.S. Sens. Mark Warner (D-VA) and Tim Kaine (D-VA) announced Thursday.

The funding would come out of the FAA’s fiscal year 2022 Airport Improvement Program. As part of the program, the FAA also will provide $4.2 million in funding to the Lonesome Pine Airport in Wise, Virginia.

“We are continuing to see investments in the Commonwealth’s airports that will make travel through Virginia safer, more convenient, and more accessible,” the senators said in a statement. “This funding will allow both facilities to start important maintenance projects on runways that will help meet their communities’ needs for years to come.”
