FBI Offers $15,000 Reward for Information in Pharmacy Robberies

Suspect attempted to rob a Pentagon Row pharmacy at gunpoint in October but was unsuccessful.

The FBI along with local police announced a coordinated effort Thursday to identify and locate a suspect responsible for a string of pharmacy robberies across Virginia, including one in Arlington.

The newest robbery occurred on Nov. 17, when the suspect
entered a Rite Aid store on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard in Newport News.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information that will lead to the identification, arrest and conviction of the subject in this investigation.

The Arlington robbery took place Oct. 10, when a black male subject entered the Rite Aid on South Joyce Street at Pentagon Row. He approached the pharmacist and asked where the Oxycodone pills were kept as he displayed a black handgun in his waistband.

The subject was unsuccessful in his attempt to obtain pills and exited the store. The subject, covering his face with a white cloth, was described as 5’8”, 160 pounds, wearing a black long-sleeved sweater with a small product logo on the rear neck area, dark blue jeans, dark sneakers with white trim and red laces, and a white and orange baseball hat.

In several of these robberies, the subject was observed leaving the premises in a light-colored, possibly white or silver, Dodge Nitro SUV.
