Firearm Discharges While Being Cleaned; Arlington Man Cited: Police
Arlington County Police charged a 28-year-old man they say was cleaning a firearm, which then discharged inside his home.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 28-year-old Arlington man is facing weapons charge after accidentally firing a firearm he was cleaning inside his home on Thursday afternoon, according to Arlington County Police.
Officers responded around 2:18 p.m. for the report of a shooting in the 600 block of N. Glebe Road. A preliminary investigation revealed that Philip Shaheen was cleaning his firearm inside his home in the Buckingham area when it discharged, causing damage to his home, according to police. No injuries were reported.
The officers charged Shaheen with reckless handling of a firearm. He was then released on a summons.
