The fire spread to the roof and a hazmat unit was called to the scene.

Firefighters in Arlington County and Alexandria scrambled to battle a blaze that broke out at a warehouse near Shirlington on Monday.

The Arlington County Fire Department first tweeted at 1:46 p.m. June 27 that they were on the scene of a warehouse fire in the 2600 block of Shirlington Road, and one patient had burns to the hands.

Things quickly got worse -- ACFD warned people to stay away from the area after the fire extended to the roof, and requested help from additional units.
