Former Gov. Bob McDonnell Asks to Remain Free on Appeal: Report
McDonnell asks a federal appeals court today to allow him to remain free while he appeals his convictions to U.S. Supreme Court, AP reports.

Former Gov. Bob McDonnell is asking a federal appeals court to allow him to remain free while he appeals his public corruption convictions to the U.S. Supreme Court, the Associated Press reports Thursday morning.
The motion from the former Republican governor of Virginia comes two days after the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals refused to reconsider a three-judge panel ruling upholding his convictions.
“After all, he remains neither a flight risk nor a threat to public safety, and the questions presented by his case remain ‘substantial,’ notwithstanding that a panel of this Court has rejected them,” the AP reports his lawyers wrote.
