One of the sons of former Gov. Bob McDonnell was arrested and charged with DWI in the early hours Thursday, according to a report by NBC-4.
Robert Ryan McDonnell, 23, was arrested in Virginia Beach, the TV station reports.
McDonnell was stopped not far from where the former first family has a vacation home, according to a report by News Channel 3 in Hampton Roads. He was charged with drunk driving and refusing to submit to a breath test.

He was released after he was charged, according to both reports.

McDonnell’s parents are also facing legal troubles. The former governor is facing 10 to 12 years in prison according to sentencing guidelines by the U.S. probation office. The governor and his wife were convicted in September for accepting more than $175,000 in gifts and loans from a wealthy businessman.
