Medical staff were evaluating the man when he became "disorderly and combative," police say.

ARLINGTON, VA -- A hospital patient in Arlington who was being evaluated became violent Tuesday night, attacking officers before he was restrained, police say.
Medical staff were evaluating the man at around 9:29 p.m. on June 5 at a hospital in the 2100 block of Washington Boulevard when he became "disorderly and combative," according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"Officers already on scene intervened to assist hospital staff with the subject, who then allegedly kicked and spit on one officer and spit on another officer while being restrained," the report states. "Once medically cleared, the subject was transported to booking."
