I-66 Debris Spill, Disabled Vehicle Delays: DC, NoVA Morning Traffic

On the Road
As of 7:40 a.m., a debris spill was reported on eastbound I-66 before the US-50/Fairfax exit. Traffic was getting by on the left shoulder.
A crash was reported on southbound US-15, 3.5 miles north of US-50 in Loudoun County at 7:40 a.m. No lanes were closed.

As of 6:58 a.m., a disabled vehicle was reported on eastbound I-66 at mile marker 72.3, 0.1 miles east of US-29/VA-124 Exit 72 in Arlington County. No lanes were closed.
As of 6:15 a.m., a disabled vehicle was reported on I-66 westbound near VA-234/Prince William Pkwy. The left lane was blocked.
In Maryland, a disabled vehicle was reported on the outer loop of I-495/Beltway at US-50/John Hanson Hwy as of 7:32 a.m. The center of the road was blocked.
On the Rails
Blue Line service is not operating south of Reagan National Airport through Oct. 22 due to Metro's Blue and Yellow Line construction. Shuttle buses and other alternatives are available. There is no Yellow Line service, with Blue and Green Line service replacing Yellow Line service.
A national railroad strike was averted after railroads and the unions representing workers reached a tentative agreement, President Joe Biden announced Thursday. The tentative agreement means the Virginia Railway Express will not have to temporarily shut down. Virginia Railway Express service will remain fare-free throughout September.
Weather
Weather forecasters are calling for more sunny weather in the D.C. area on Friday, with a high near 81. Friday night should be mostly clear, with a low around 60.
