Johnny Rockets Closes in Shirlington: Report
Shake-up continues at local shopping center with closings, openings and renovations.

Johnny Rockets, the hamburger and French Fries nostalgic diner, has closed its doors in Shirlington Village, according to a report Tuesday by ARLnow.
The story showed a photo of a flyer posted to the restaurant door that reads: “Dear Guests, The Johnny Rockets at Shirlington Village has permanently closed its doors.” Read the entire story here.
The store did not give any hint of closing on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

The shopping center has announced a series of openings, closings and even renovation of its movie theater in recent weeks.

- Palette 22, a new restaurant coming to the space previously occupied by Extra Virgin, on the corner across from the movie theater.
- Hula Girl Bar & Grill is opening at the site of the former Aladdin’s Eatery.

- Buon Appetito: Osteria da Nino Opens in Shirlington Village
- The movie theater will also be undergoing a renovation, according to an announcement on the Village’s Facebook page.
But stores and restaurants that have recently closed include Bungalow Sports Grill and Periwinkle.
