Kicking, Spitting Man Charged With Assault On Law Enforcement: Police
A man who refused to identify himself and resisted arrest faces multiple charges in connection with a report of disorderly conduct.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man who refused to identify himself after being arrested in Crystal City for disorderly conduct on Friday, faces multiple charges, including four counts of assault and battery on law enforcement, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
Officers responded around 8:38 a.m to the 1700 block of S. Clark Street for the report of a man harassing and spitting on passersby. After getting a description of the suspect from witnesses, the officers located the man and determined that he was drinking in public, according to police.
At first, the officers tried to get the man to leave the area. When he refused, they tried to take him into custody, but he resisted, kicking a cruiser door and spitting toward officers, police say.

Upon arriving for booking, the man refused to exit the vehicle and spit at one of the officers. Multiple officers were required to bring the man into booking. All the while, he kicked, spit on and tried to bite them, according to police.
During booking, the man refused to identify himself and police were unable to determine his identity. Booking him as a John Doe, they arrested and charged the man with four counts of assault and battery on law enforcement, attempted destruction of property, public drunkenness, and drinking alcohol in public. He was then held without bond.
