Man Held Without Bond After Columbia Pike Assault In Arlington: Police
A 25-year-old man was charged with malicious wounding after an assault left another man seriously injured, police said.
ARLINGTON, VA — A 25-year-old man was being held without bond after police accused him of seriously injuring another man Monday night near Columbia Pike and South Dinwiddie Street, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
At about 10:05 p.m., a patrol officer was flagged down about an assault in the area. Police said the victim had been sitting nearby when a man known to him approached and assaulted him.
The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to police.

Suspect Has Previous Arlington Cases
During their investigation, officers identified and detained Antoni Reyes-Ramirez, 25, who police listed as having no fixed address. He was charged with malicious wounding and held without bond, police said.
Virginia court records reviewed Wednesday show a defendant identified as Antoni Reyes Ramirez, with the same birth date as the defendant in several earlier Arlington cases, had a pending felony hate-crime assault charge stemming from a July 17 incident. That case was filed July 27, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 3. The court record lists him as released on recognizance in that case.

Court records also show two charges stemming from a May 22, 2025, incident: a felony charge under Virginia Code § 18.2-52 and a misdemeanor assault-and-battery charge. Both cases were dismissed following a Jan. 7, 2026, preliminary hearing.
A separate misdemeanor case accusing Reyes Ramirez of falsely reporting a crime to police in connection with an April 14, 2024, incident was also dismissed, according to Arlington General District Court records.
Police did not identify the victim or provide additional information about what preceded Monday night's assault.
The malicious wounding charge is an accusation, and Reyes-Ramirez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
