Man in Dark Pickup Truck May Be Stalking Girls Throughout Arlington: Police
Police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect or suspects from incidents stretching back to April.

Police are alerting the public to a number of recent incidents involving children and a driver in a dark pickup truck, and authorities say it's possible that it's the same man every time.
The first incident happened April 7 at around 4:30 p.m., when a man approached a boy and a girl in the 5200 block of 8th Road South and tried to get them to accompany him home, according to an Arlington police statement.
The children refused, and the man left in a dark-colored pickup truck. The girl had noticed the man watching her on at least three separate occasions.

"The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his thirties, approximately 5’6” tall and weighed 160 lbs," police said. "He was wearing a black North Face sweater and blue jeans."
On April 19, a man tried to entice several children to get into his vehicle, also a dark-colored pick-up truck, in the 5200 block of 30th Street North at around 7 p.m. There was a ladder on top of the truck and numerous tools in the bed.

"The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 40-50 years old, with medium length hair and was wearing a blue tattered tank top," police said.
On May 23, two girls were walking in the 200 block of N. Park Drive at around 3:25 p.m. when a dark blue pickup truck pulled up alongside them as they were walking. The girls caught up with another pedestrian and the vehicle left without the driver speaking to them.
"The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with light complexion and black hair," police said.
On May 25 at around 3:30 p.m., a girl was walking in the 1300 block of N. Stafford Street when a vehicle passed her going in the same direction, slowing down and appearing to wait for. She turned around and headed in the opposite direction. The girl had also seen the vehicle on two other occasions: in one case, the driver honked his horn to get her attention, and in another case the driver seemed to be watching her from a parked car.
"The male subject is described as a heavy set Hispanic, Middle Eastern or Italian male, possibly in his 50’s with thinning black hair, big lips and small rimmed sunglasses," police said. "He was driving a newer model light blue, dark blue or black model sedan."
Arlington police are investigating the incidents, and officers will conduct extra checks in the areas that they happened.
"The incidents and suspect descriptions sound similar and detectives are investigating to determine if these incidents are linked," police spokesperson Ashley Savage said.
