Man Dressed as a Clown Tries to Scare Young Girl in Arlington: Police

Police searched the area for the suspect but couldn't find him.

ARLINGTON, VA — It may be long past Halloween, but some people apparently still think it's fun to dress up as clowns and bother others: police are on the lookout for a man who dressed up as a clown and tried to scare a girl in south Arlington.

Police were called to the 2100 block of S. Nelson Street at around 5:02 p.m. on Nov. 8 to a report of a suspicious person.

"The juvenile female reported seeing a man dressed as a clown that tried to scare her," according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

Police described the suspect as a black man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall with an average build. Police conducted a canvas of the area, but could not find him, the report states.
