Man Spits on Police Officer in Rosslyn

Police were responding to a report of a disorderly subject.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man is in jail after police say he spit on a police officer who was responding to a report of a disorderly subject in Rosslyn.

Police responded to the 1100 block of 19th Street N at around 8:33 p.m. on Sept. 15 due to a report of a disorderly subject. Once they arrived, officers "determined that following a verbal altercation the male subject slapped the victim in the face several times," according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"When officers attempted to place the subject into custody, the subject resisted and spit on an officer," the report stated.

Police arrested 28-year-old Mohammed Alotaibi of no fixed address on charges of assault and battery and assault on police.
