More Airbags Stolen In Pentagon/Crystal City: Police

Police have reported a new series of thefts from vehicles in south Arlington.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Is it the same airbag thief, or a different one? Once again, cars in Pentagon City and Crystal City had their airbags ripped out by thieves, police say.

Police began responding to numerous locations throughout the neighborhoods at around 11 p.m. Aug. 3 to multiple reports of larcenies from auto, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"Upon arrival, it was determined that the windows of approximately 20 vehicles were smashed and airbags stolen," the report states. "During the course of the investigation, it was also determined that two vehicles each had a set of four tires and rims stolen. The investigation is ongoing."

Police listed the locations as follows: 1200 block of S. Eads Street/1100 block of S. Joyce Street/1600 block of S. Joyce Street/1900 block of S. Eads Street/1500 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road/500 block of 15th Street S./1600 block of S. Eads Street/1100 block of Army Navy Drive.

Last month, burglars smashed the windows of 35 cars in Pentagon City and stole airbags.
