New Clarendon Bar and Lounge to Open in June, Signs 20-Year Lease

The G.O.A.T. is taking over the space vacated by Hard Times Cafe on Wilson Boulevard.

ARLINGTON, VA — A new bar moving into Clarendon at the old Hard Times Cafe this summer has signed a 20-year lease and will be open late as an upscale evening lounge, according to a statement from the bar.

G.O.A.T. Sports Bar, which describes itself as "Clarendon's premier sports and game lounge," will be opening in June 2017 at 3028 Clarendon Boulevard, according to its website.

The 8,800-square-foot restaurant space will be able to seat 350 guests between three full bars and full-service tables. The space will be completely remodeled.

"The G.O.A.T. will serve gourmet American comfort food and beverages," the statement reads. "All the menu’s recipes will feature locally sourced ingredients and homemade marinades and sauces. There will be an emphasis on craft cocktails and beers supplied from area microbreweries."

The bar is "designed with extended hours for lounging in mind," the statement adds, noting that the G.O.A.T. will transition from a traditional sports bar to a "chic and relaxed evening lounge," including late night menus and live entertainment.
