• 113th Wing recognized for air defense, combat performance (einpresswire.com) — Right here in Arlington the D.C. Air National Guard's 113th Wing has been honored as NORAD's Air Control Alert Unit of the Year for its round-the-clock defense of the capital's airspace. Airmen based at the local alert facility scramble F‑16s multiple times a day and recently earned additional recognition for pilots who helped shoot down Iranian drones during a 2024 attack.
