They Tried To Stay Open, But Flood Damage Finally Forces Arlington Restaurant To Close (dailyvoice.com) — Flood damage has forced Corso Italian in Arlington's Village at Shirlington to close temporarily, leaving dozens of staff suddenly without paychecks. Managers have launched a GoFundMe, backed by the Shirlington Civic Association, to help servers, cooks, and other employees cover lost wages while repairs continue and the restaurant awaits a still-unknown reopening date.
   

2. Environmental and Labor Issues in International Trade (hklaw.com) — A major judicial conference of the U.S. Court of International Trade is being held in Arlington bringing judges, lawyers, academics, and government officials to town. One panel will dig into how environmental and labor issues have shaped key trade cases and future disputes. It's a niche but notable legal gathering happening right here in Arlington.
   

3. Mark Thomas Moore, 35, Sentenced to 180 Months for Series of BB Gun Holdups — Congress Heights on the Rise (congressheightsontherise.com) — A man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for a string of BB-gun robberies that included a CVS in Arlington. Investigators tied him to the Arlington holdup using a GPS-tracked banknote, surveillance footage, and evidence recovered from an apartment. Arlington County Police worked with D.C. authorities and the FBI on the case.
   

4. Booz Allen Hamilton, Concurrent Tech and KPMG Win $96.7M Marine Corps Support IDIQ (envzone.com) — A major Marine Corps support contract modification will send 40% of the work to the Pentagon and the Naval Support Facility in Arlington, tying local federal installations to nearly $200 million in professional services through 2029. Booz Allen Hamilton, Concurrent Technologies, and KPMG will compete for task orders under this expanded IDIQ, with funding assigned as individual projects are issued.
   

5. Army Secretary Prepares to Go (newser.com) — The Army secretary, a close ally of Vice President JD Vance, is expected to step down by year's end after clashes with the defense secretary, and he has already moved from the official residence to a smaller on-base apartment near Arlington National Cemetery. His likely departure deepens uncertainty atop Army leadership, with the chief of staff post already filled on an acting basis. Arlington residents mainly see nearby military housing shifts and broader Pentagon turbulence.
