People's 'Most Beautiful Woman'? She Hails from Arlington
Arlington claims several celebrities who grew up in the area.

It’s time to brag, Arlington: Arlington born-and-bred Sandra Bullock has made headlines once again. She graduated in 1982 from the county’s Washington-Lee High School.
Bullock, 50, was named Wednesday by People magazine as the “World’s Most Beautiful Woman.”
She’s not one to boast. “Real beauty is quiet. Especially in this town, it’s just so hard not to say, ‘Oh, I need to look like that,’ “ she explains to People in an interview in the magazine. “No, be a good person, be a good mom, do a good job with the lunch, let someone cut in front of you who looks like they’re in a bigger hurry. The people I find most beautiful are the ones who aren’t trying.”

Bullock was also in the headlines recently because of an incident that took place at her home in California in 2014. A hearing was held earlier this month for an alleged stalker arrested for breaking into her home.
