Hollyleaf the cat has been waiting 257 day at the Arlington County Shelter to meet her new parents and finally go to her forever home.

ARLINGTON, VA — Patch publishes a story every week to help the Animal Welfare League of Arlington find homes for the many animals at the Arlington County Shelter. While every pet is special, each has one thing in common — they need a home.
Hollyleaf has been waiting to meet her new family for 257 days, according to Chelsea Jones, AWLA's senior communications specialist.
That's a long time for any cat to wait, so let's let her explain why she would be the perfect pet for your home:

"My name is Hollyleaf and I want to tell you why you should be my new parent(s)!
"Everyone tells me how pretty I am. I have green eyes, soft fur, and adorable cheeks. I love to eat and you can win my heart with snacks and treats. I am sweet and affectionate and have taken to snuggling with my foster mom in the bed and sofa. I like to purr and show my appreciation for the way she takes care of me. When my foster mom is working at the computer, I like to relax on the desk next to her in case she needs my computer skills. When I am not working as her assistant, I like to look out the window or play with my toys. I am not at all demanding of attention and would make a great companion to a special human.

"I have diabetes and I'm super chill about getting my insulin injections. My foster mom has no trouble giving me the injections, even though she had no experience with this kind of thing.
"So what do you think? I can't wait to meet you!"
