Police: Concierge Foils Attempted Sex Assault in Clarendon
Suspect taken into custody is a registered sex offender, according to Arlington County Police.

A quick-thinking concierge foiled an attempt by a suspect to reportedly sexually assault a woman in Clarendon Tuesday morning, according to police.

Arlington County Police arrested Jerome King, 32, of Washington, DC Tuesday and charged him with abduction with intent to defile, police said in a news release.
King, a registered sex offender, was held without bond, according to police.

“The initial 911 call Tuesday came to us at approximately 8:05 a.m. for a subject being detained by a concierge in the lobby area of a apartment building,” spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said in an email.
Police responded to the 1900 block of N. Clarendon Boulevard and took King into custody.
The incident was captured on surveillance video and shows the suspect grabbing the female victim from behind.
The victim had come to the front entrance to see if her Uber driver had arrived and was attacked. A struggle ensued and the suspects attack was interrupted by the fast acting and alert concierge.
