Suspects Linked To Lockdown At Washington-Liberty HS Await Charges
At about 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Washington-Liberty High School was placed on lockdown after several people thought they heard gunshots.

ARLINGTON, VA — Two juveniles are awaiting charges in connection with the explosion of fireworks at Washington-Liberty High School that set off a search for a possible person with a gun on school grounds on Tuesday, the Arlington County Police Department said Thursday.
At about 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Washington-Liberty High School was placed on lockdown after several people thought they heard gunshots.
Initial information reported to the Arlington Emergency Communications Center indicated possible gunshots coming from a bathroom within the school, Arlington County Police said Thursday.

Police officers entered the school, began a search of the building and found evidence that fireworks had been set off. The school was placed on lockdown as officers completed a thorough search of the building. The search found no evidence of a shooting and no injuries reported.
A possible suspect description was obtained through evidence at the scene and witness interviews, police. The suspect, a juvenile, was found and detained. A second juvenile was found to be in possession of fireworks on school grounds.

Arlington Police said that petitions for both juveniles for misdemeanor violations of the Statewide Fire Prevention Code are pending.
