Police: Man Tries to Rob 7-Eleven, Doesn't Tell Getaway Driver
Police arrested a man on robbery charges, but let the driver off the hook.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man allegedly who attempted to rob a 7-Eleven on Washington Boulevard didn’t bother to tell his companion that he was the getaway driver, according to Arlington County Police.
An officer noticed a suspicious vehicle driving with its lights off in the 2700 block of N. Washington Boulevard early Thursday morning.
Suddenly, a man came running from the 7-Eleven parking lot nearby toward the vehicle, according to the police report.

The officer arrested 21-year-old Camron Richardson of Arlington, the man who was seen running from the 7-Eleven. He faces charges of robbery and possession of burglarious tools, and is being held on no bond.
But police didn’t arrest the driver, who apparently didn’t realize that Richardson planned to rob the convenience store.

“There was a driver and a suspect attempting to rob the 7-Eleven,” said Ashley Savage, spokesperson for the Arlington County Police Department. “Based on the investigation, the driver did not appear to have prior knowledge of Richardson’s intention to rob the 7-Eleven and the driver has not been charged.”
