ARLINGTON, VA — The Salt Pot Kitchen, a Loudoun County-based company, and California-based chain JINYA Ramen Bar are getting ready to open new restaurants in Ballston Quarter in Arlington.

The Salt Pot Kitchen, which serves traditional British favorites, is holding its grand opening at Ballston Quarter on Sunday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The restaurant will have special tastings at the grand opening and will be giving away vouchers for customers to use when they return.

Ballston Quarter will be The Salt Pot Kitchen's first brick-and-mortar location, co-owner Wendy Salt told Patch. The restaurant, located in the food court at Ballston Quarter, plans to be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.

The Salt Pot Kitchen also sells its food at farmer's markets and is scheduled to be at the Gilbert's Corner Farmer's Market on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market is located at the northeast corner of the roundabout at the intersections of Routes 50 and 15 in Aldie.

The Salt Pot Kitchen also will be selling its food at the OneLoudoun Farmer's Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 44578 Atwater Drive in Ashburn.

The menu for the Ballston Quarter location will include traditional English fare, like meat pies, sausage rolls, and soups.

The Ballston Quarter location of the JINJA Ramen Bar is scheduled to open in early May, ARLnow reported.

The Ballston location will be JINYA’s third one in Northern Virginia. JINYA opened its first East Coast restaurant at Merrifield’s Mosaic District in 2016. It also has a restaurant in Reston.

The new location at 4238 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington will have similar menus to its Mosaic District and Reston locations, as well as its restaurants on 14th Street in D.C. and in Bethesda.

JINYA offers a range of ramen bowls, from creamy vegan to hearty tonkotsu, as well as small plates of dumplings and bao, rice bowls, and mini tacos.

JINYA, a name for a Samurai soldier, was founded in Tokyo by Tomo Takahashi in 2000. The restaurateur opened the first U.S. JINYA in California in 2010.
