Santa Claus Won't Let Coronavirus Derail Annual Firehouse Visit
Santa Claus has visited the Cherrydale Firehouse every year for more than a century.
ARLINGTON, VA — Santa Claus has paid a visit to the Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Department every year for over a century and he's not going let the coronavirus pandemic force him to break that streak.
In the interest of public safety, the jolly old elf will be meeting children outside this year in the parking lot of Cherrydale Baptist Church, which is located at 3910 Lorcom Lane in Arlington. Families can signup online to reserve a time to meet Santa on Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 9 a.m. All participants will be required to wear masks.
The Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Department will also be hosting two Santa parades through the Cherrydale neighborhood and parts of North Arlington on Thursday, Dec. 10, and Friday, Dec. 11, from 6-8 p.m.
