ARLINGTON, VA — A 42-year-old Arlington man is facing an aggravated malicious wounding charge in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred late Friday night in the Buckingham area.

Officers responded around 11:22 p.m. for the report of a stabbing in the 4300 block of 4th Streeet N. A preliminary investigation revealed that two men who knew each other got into an argument outside a residential building. As the argument escalated, it turned physical and one of the men stabbed the other with a knife before running off, according to police. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-live-threatening injuries.

Investigators identified the suspect as Nicolas Godinez-Andres of Arlington and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On Saturday, officers located Godinez-Andres inside a residence in the 800 block of S. Oakland Street and took him into custody, according to police. During the arrest, officers recovered a knife from the scene. Godinez-Andres was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and held without bond.
