Stellina Pizzeria Coming To Village At Shirlington
D.C. restaurateur Antonio Matarazzo and Chef Matteo Venini will be opening a fast-casual pizzeria later this year in Shirlington.

ARLINGTON, VA — D.C.-based restaurateur Antonio Matarazzo and Chef Matteo Venini will be opening Stellina Pizzeria, a modern, fast-casual pizza concept, later this year in the Village at Shirlington. The 2,000-square-foot space, located at 2800 S. Randolph St., will offer a small dining room, bar, and patio.
Matarazzo and Venini opened their first Stellina Pizzeria at the Union Market District in April 2019. They will be opening a second D.C. location next year at 508 K St., N.W.
“While Stellina’s second D.C. location is in the works, we’re jumping at the chance to continue expanding across the region, which has been our goal from day one,” said Matarazzo, in a release. “Bringing our modern interpretation of the classic pizza counter to the Shirlington neighborhood is a natural next step. My family and I live in South Arlington, and this new location lets us better serve our Northern Virginia guests with outdoor dining, curbside pick-up, and delivery. We’ll also enhance the many ways to experience Stellina at home with a deli counter offering fresh pastas by the pound, homemade sauces, and DIY pizza kits.”

The menu at the Shirlington restaurant will be similar to the one offered at Stellina’s Union Market location. Venini will craft neo-Neapolitan pizzas with creative toppings. The restaurant will serve sandwiches on pizza dough, handmade pastas, and salads. It will also offer a deli-style counter featuring homemade pastas, sauces, pizza dough, and toppings to allow customers to recreate Stellina's signature dishes at home.
“As people continue to crave comfort and familiarity, The Village at Shirlington has remained a go-to dining destination. The addition of Stellina to the ever-popular restaurant mix here in the Village is a welcome addition that will be celebrated by the community,” said Stuart Biel, senior vice president of Federal Realty Investment Trust, which operates The Village at Shirlington.

The restaurant will feature a glass-front and boast a 48-seat dining room and a covered and heated patio, which will seat up to 20 diners. Molly Allen of Allen Studios will lead the design and build-out of the space, which will feature a mural by local artists No Kings Collective. The mural will include Italian actor Totò along with other Italian icons, much like the mural at the original Stellina.
