Arlington County Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday night in the Arlington Ridge community.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are asking the public's help in locating a man they say robbed a woman at gunpoint Saturday night in the Arlington Ridge area, according to a police report.
Around 7:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of S. Kent Street for the report of an armed robbery. Arriving on the scene, they learned that the female victim was leaving her parked vehicle when a man approached her. Brandishing a firearm, he shoved her back toward the vehicle and demanded she hand over her purse. During the subsequent struggle, a single shot was fired. The woman was not injured and the man left the scene with the woman's purse. The officers canvased the area but did not locate the suspect.
Police described the suspect as a Black man in his late 2os to early 30s. He stood 6-foot to 6-foot-2 in height, and had a thin build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing all black clothing, a black neck gaiter, and a black skull cap. Police reported that an older model, dark colored four-door sedan was seen leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.
