The accident occurred July 20 on a road in Albemarle County, WRC-TV Channel 4 reported. The boys were riding in a Nissan Altima with their father and another person when a white Ford Expedition crossed the center line and struck them head-on.
Desmond died Tuesday at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Channel 4 reported, and Quincy died at the scene of the crash.

The Rev. Michelle C. Thomas, pastor of Loudoun County’s Holy & Whole Life Changing Ministries, International, is asking churches, houses of worship and the community at large to come together to support the family of Desmond and Quincy on Thursday.
The group will gather at Cardinal Ridge to collectively pray for healing and for the recovery of the boys’ father and the other passenger in the accident. Both were critically injured in the crash, according to Thomas.
“It is at heartbreaking, unfathomable moments like these, that the faith community must unite in solidarity to help usher in healing and hope, by sharing prayers of comfort, peace and strength,” the pastor said in a statement. “This tragedy is a great loss to our community, but we stand united with the Holmes family and will continue to support them throughout this process.”
