Car Crashes Through Leesburg Courthouse Fence

Driver taken to local hospital for treatment, according to media reports.

A car crashed through the iron fence surrounding the Loudoun County courthouse on Wednesday afternoon in downtown Leesburg, according to a report from the Washington Post.

The driver, an unidentified woman, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to fully recover, according to local authorities, the Post said.

The accident occurred shortly after 1:45 p.m., when the 2014 Subaru crashed through the fence, continued across the lawn and came to a stop after entering the portico surrounding the courthouse entrance, according to the paper, quoting the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report on the Leesburg Today website, a witness said the car struck a truck before crashing through the fence. It then proceeded up a hill and stopped short of the front entrance.
