Hierarch to Unveil Future Site of First Greek Orthodox Church
Unveiling in Ashburn on June 29, 2019 will include His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos

Ashburn, VA - On June 29, 2019, His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos and Presiding
Priest of Holy Apostles, Reverend Father George Alexson, will unveil the new Holy
Apostles Greek Orthodox Church property off Russell Branch Parkway in Ashburn
located near Belmont Country Club. The 7.5 acre property was purchased by Holy
Apostles on June 10, 2019 and once a facility is built, will serve as their permanent
worship home. Following the unveiling, a Vespers service with His Eminence will be
celebrated at the church’s current leased facility in Dulles, VA.
Founded in 2006, Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church is the first and only Greek
Orthodox Church in Loudoun County. Its over 130 families currently worship at a
temporary facility that is overflowing its space limits. With religious and language
education programs as well as many charity and ministry groups, this new location will
serve as the epicenter of Greek culture and religion for Loudoun County.
