Police: 3 Ashburn Homes May Have Been Targeted in Burglaries
Break-ins last week follow pattern, says Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Loudoun County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a series of burglaries in Ashburn in which the homes were possibly targeted.
On Thursday, an unknown suspect or suspects entered a home on Watson Heights Circle in Ashburn, according to the county sheriff’s office. Two more burglaries were reported Saturday on Barnstead Drive, also in Ashburn.

“It is likely these homes were targeted, as all three of the victims are of Asian descent,” said Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman in a statement.
“We remind residents to secure their valuables in a safe deposit box or a wall safe,” he added.

In the three cases, the suspect or suspects entered either through a rear door or window while the residents were not home, the sheriff’s office said. The burglaries occurred during the late afternoon into the early evening hours.
Detectives are reviewing recent burglaries in the area to determine if other cases are related to these latest crimes.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has begun directed patrols in these areas and continues to encourage residents to report any suspicious behavior, vehicles or persons by calling the 24-hour-non-emergency line at (703) 777-1021. Residents are reminded to call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
