Ward was initially charged last month after an investigation by the sheriff’s office revealed he was having inappropriate contact with an underage female. Ward was arrested on May 22 and charged with indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship, and use of a communication device to solicit a child.

Ward previously served as a lieutenant at the Hamilton Volunteer Rescue Squad and as a volunteer paramedic with the Sterling Rescue Squad.

The sheriff’s office said it will not release details regarding the circumstances of the cases and information regarding the minors to help protect the identity of the victims.

Ward is being held on no bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center in Leesburg.
