Failed Heist: Teen Crashes Car Through Ferrari Showroom Window

Teen also grabbed merchandise and keys from the Lamborghini dealership next door, says Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A Reston teenager took window shopping to another level early Tuesday morning, driving his car through the glass showroom door of the local Ferrari dealership, say Loudoun County police.

Douglas W. Rios, 19, was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of grand larceny and destruction of property for driving through the door of the Ferrari of Washington dealership in Sterling, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. The break-in on wheels allegedly occurred shortly before 6 a.m.

Rios also forced his way into the adjoining Lamborghini dealership and removed merchandise and keys from the two locations, the police report said. No one was injured in the incident.

The two luxury Italian automobile dealerships are in Venture Plaza, off Route 28 just north of the Waxpool Road interchange. The police report did not say what kind of car Rios drove through the showroom door, or what type of merchandise he allegedly stole.

Ferrari of Washington declined to comment to Patch regarding the break in.

Sheriff’s deputies took Rios into custody at the scene on Tuesday morning. He’s being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center in Leesburg.
